Our members are mainly from St Albans, St Gregory’s, St Edward’s – Macclesfield and St Mary’s – Congleton – although we have had members from further afield.
We come from all walks of life, and our members (or brothers as we know each other) cover a wide age range. Some are in their thirties, and our oldest brother is over 90.
We are not a secret society, nor are we the Catholic version of the Masons – although, ironically, we do meet in the Masonic Hall, Riseley Street!
Our monthly meetings, are held on the fourth Thursday of the month – starting at 7.30pm – and are in two parts:
- A formal meeting where we pray together then deal with the business: of the Circle – membership, entertainments, finance etc.
- “After-Circle” we enjoy a drink, a bite to eat and often a talk, possibly by one of our members. For example, Sam Wanjau, a brother, told us on one occasion about “Kenya, my other country”.
The Circle has an active and varied social programme in which we and our families are all encouraged to take part.
We welcome enquiries from gentlemen who are practising Catholics and who would like to know more, without commitment.
